The Second Annual Halloween-on-the-Heights Festival was celebrated on Saturday, October 23, 2010 on the Broadview Heights City Hall Campus. Broadview Mini-Storage Once Again Helped Sponsor the Scarecrow Competition

The Second Annual "Halloween On the Heights" Festival was held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 on the Broadview Heights City Hall Campus. The event was very successful with an estimated attendance of between 3,000 and 4,000 people. The event was sponsored by the City of Broadview Heights and the Broadview Heights Community Foundation, with support from the Chamber of Commerce in Broadview Heights. Broadview Mini-Storage was a major supporter of the Halloween on the Heights Scarecrow Competition.

Fun categories for the Scarecrow Competition with great prizes!
There were five principal themed competition categories for the general public, with a separate competition open only to school groups and classes from the Brecksville-Broadview Heights and North Royalton City Schools as well as area parochial and private schools and pre-schools.

For each of the five themed categories, First Prize was $200, Second Prize was $100 in Gift Certificates to area restaurants, and Third Prize was a $50 Gift Certificate to an area restaurant. The five themed scarecrow categories were:

  • Scariest scarecrow
  • Funniest scarecrow
  • Prettiest scarecrow
  • Cartoon characters, past and present (including fantasy and animated characters)
  • Famous people, past and present (including political figures)

For the separate contest open to school groups and classes, there were two first prize awards which were pool/swim parties at the Broadview Heights Recreation Center. In addition, there were ten second prizes which consisted of pizza parties for the winning kids at their schools.
